Our instrumentation metrology laboratory is a building designed and constructed from scratch specifically for instrumentation calibrations. It was designed with the intention of performing certain metrological tests and has the proper layout, design, and equipment to ensure proper measurements. The facility houses two laboratories. The first laboratory was built on a floating floor to minimize vibrations. It is also temperature and humidity monitored and controlled. There are special earth grounds through the facility. The testing lab has specially designed stations that are conducive to the functions they perform, such as a temperature station, pressure station, flow station, and electrical station. The second laboratory is located inside the first laboratory and has a second level of temperature and humidity controls.

The isolation benefits are increase because the first laboratory actually buffers the second laboratory from the external environment. Inside the second laboratory is a pipette calibration station and also a dimensional station. Work areas, were equipment it repaired and rebuilt are located outside the laboratories, to help keep work areas clean and neat. These work areas are designed to meet special fabrication needs as well as bench testing and repair. The entire facility is fully networked and access to the main asset and calibration management software is available at any point.

Our mass metrology lab specially designed and constructed specifically for mass calibrations. The room is constructed below ground and rests on a floating floor to help minimize any effects of vibration from the outside environment. The room is sealed in a plastic envelope to allow the air handling unit to accurately and effectively regulate the temperature and humidity. The room has special low heat lighting ballasts to minimize temperature gradients within the room.

The flooring has copper wire that runs through it to help dissipate any static electric charges that may be present in the room. Our mass comparators are set-up on marble tables to help minimize vibrations before they reach the weighing systems. The 0.1µg balances sit on extra large 6” marble tables to enhance stability. Our comparators are the best available and allow us to calibrate precision masses from 1mg to 30kg with low uncertainties and up to 500kg non-precision masses.
